In Amsterdam, The Netherlands

I just got into Amsterdam. Checked into my hostel at Shelter Jordan.

I spent the day in Gent, Belgium. Walked around the city. Know it like the back of my hand. I bought a nifty compass, so that is helping a lot more. Ate an amazing spinach burger. Yum.

Off to meet some friends at Central Station. We met at the hostel in Brussels and decided we would meet up here.

I'm off.

Off to Amsterdam

I just got off the phone and made a hostel reservation for this evening. I am staying tonight at Shelter Jordan! (www.shelter.nl) Can't wait. It is a lovely place that I have stayed before.

I am heading to the train station now and leaving Brussels. I may try to visit Gent in Belgium today before I go to Amsterdam. We'll see.

Bye bye.

Bruxelles!

Hey kids.

I thought this may be the best way to keep the family and friends in my life up to date with my travels the next 32 days. So, if you are interested stay tuned to the bloggy blog here. If not interested, never come back.

Alright, so the scoop I arrived in Brussels this morning at 8am. Kind of a horrendous commuter flight from Detroit to Newark, NJ. We ended up landing in Allentown, PA. Where is that? Our pilot took off from the cockpit, came back 20 minutes later with subway. Needless to say I made it to Newark later then planned. My carousing with Mary Beth Botts and Becca Brasser was cut short in Jersey City, NJ. The flight to Brussels was manageable. I sat directly behind first class and had to witness their literally 8 course meal. It was painful. Then, my flight attendant refused to give me a vegetarian meal. I snacked on iceburg lettuce and that was my dinner and lunch.

Took two hours to locate my hostel. Received awful directions. It is a decent place: www.chab.be

My coworker Aimee has a good friend in Brussels. I met her at work and got a tour of the UN House. We did Ethiopian/Sudanese for dinner. Then had my first real Belgian beer. Cheers.

Falling asleep at the keyboard. More to come.
